NFS: Hot Pursuit is an exciting racing game where you have a choice: play as a cop or get chased by them!
What's NFS: Hot Pursuit about?
Start the career mode in NFS: Hot Pursuit and you'll get to choose to be the racer or the police. Depending on which you choose, the subsequent missions will vary. Essentially, in the racing mode you'll be racing other cars and trying to outrun the cops before they catch you, and in the cop mode the missions are based around chasing crooks and setting up road blocks. There are 24 varied courses in all to test you.
You gain 'bounty' for winning races, outrunning cops and achieving objectives, and this can be used to unlock new levels, upgrade your car with bonus items and purchase new vehicles. There are 20 different real life cars to unlock in NFS: Hot Pursuit and 15 types of cop car. There are some great vehicles available once you progress (Lamborghini Murcielago, Bugatti Veyron, Pagani Zonda, Ford GT, etc.).
How does it look?
Graphically, NFS: Hot Pursuit is very respectable. The cars bear a good likeness to their real-life inspiration, backgrounds are quite detailed, and the impression of speed you get from the game is very good.
Unfortunately, less affection has been lavished on the audio in NFS: Hot Pursuit. The soundtrack is very repetitive and annoying, and worse still, the sound effects are minimal - you don't even hear engine noises!
The controls in NFS: Hot Pursuit are very easy to get to grips with. You tilt your Windows Phone device to steer and hold your finger on the bottom of the screen to brake. To apply nitros, just swipe the screen upwards. There are also special buttons for creating an oil slick (if you're a racer) or setting up a road block (if you're a cop).
In all, NFS: Hot Pursuit is an enjoyable Windows Phone racing game in which you get to drive as a good guy or a bad guy - the choice is yours!
